Cardiff council have a policy of ensuring that school children get every opportunity to learn to swim by making entrance FREE during school holidays, that include half term by the way! As long as you have not reached you 17th birthday and you swim between 10.00am to 4.00pm
It is also an excellent sport for adults, Cardiff Swimming Development do their best to provide an opportunity to learn to swim.

If you are 60 and over and swim outside school holidays then you can also benefit from free swimming in Council swimming pools
The free swimming project is the first of its kind in Europe with the aim of improving the health of the nation.
It’s the Welsh Government that now invests £3.5m in the Free Swimming initiative. It is managed by Sport Wales and partnered by local authorities who deliver it.
Cardiff International Pool
Part of the international sports village this brand new pool does not fall into the free swim category.
Brilliant pool though so well worth the money. It features a 50m Olympic pool with spectator seating for 1000.
The leisure pool has water slides and a lazy river, changing facilities are kept clean with good showers and lockers that take a pound coin. You can use the coin to dry yourself off in the infra red heating booths.
There are fitness facilities that include a 110 station gym and health suite.
There is a Crèche and a Café Bar and the car park is free.
