Cardiff Millennium Stadium, opened in June 1999, is one of the leading sport, music concert and exhibition venues in the United Kingdom and has a fully seated capacity of 74,500 spectators over 3 tiers.

Boasting the first fully retractable roof in the country, Cardiff Millennium Stadium has quickly become a world class host for such events as the English FA Cup Final (whilst Wembley was redeveloped in the early part of the twenty first century), matches during two Rugby Union World Cups including the final itself in its first year, the FIM British Speedway GP, and huge stadium music concerts by world famous artists such as Bruce Springsteen, Rhianna, Oasis, U2 and Take That. It also hosted football matches as part of the London Olympics in 2012.

The Millennium stadium pitch has had a reputation for being prone to damage, is now being replaced by a hybrid pitch of grass and synthetic fibre. The stadium is said to bring £130,000,000 to the Welsh Economy

Cardiff Millennium Stadium How To Get There

There are no parking facilities at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, so you will need to find alternative arrangements to get to the venue if you are travelling by car to the city or by public transport. Event days, as expected, are incredibly busy and road closures are enforced around the area and city centre.

Car: A ‘Park & Ride’ scheme is the best way if arriving by road with three options to choose from. All of them run from the outskirts to Cardiff city centre from where you can walk to the Millennium Stadium.

Cardiff East Park and Ride is located at postcode CF23 7XH just off the A48 and is open seven days a week. Parking is £3 per car and the bus is free.

Cardiff South Park and Ride is located at postcode CF10 4UW at Cardiff County Hall and is open on Saturdays only. Parking is £3 per car and includes the bus.

Cardiff West Park and Ride is located at postcode CF11 8AZ  at the Cardiff City Stadium and is open weekdays, except bank holidays. Parking is just £3 and the bus is free.

Bus: Most local buses and national coach services start or terminate at Cardiff Central Bus Station. This is only a 5 minute walk from the stadium along Wood Street.

Train: Cardiff Railway Station is situated just 5 minutes walk from the stadium. Leave the station by the Northern exit and walk along Wood Street to the venue.
