John Lewis say it is not too early and some scoff at those getting ready for Christmas and some are waiting for Halloween. But those people have not visited the Christmas shop in John Lewis, which opened on Wednesday, September 27.
Here, surrounded by everything sparkly, everything Christmas from polar bears to Santa to snow fairies, you can not help but get swept into the festive spirit. And also enjoy some of John Lewis‘s wackier Christmas decorations as this year they have really pushed the boat out.
There are six main Christmas themes in John Lewis for 2023, Christmas Cottage, Winter Fairytale, Rainbow Time Capsule, Royal Fairytale, Polar Planet and Beyond Christmas Theme. My personal favourite was the Rainbow Time Capsule which full of bright colours and quirky baubles.
From burgers and pancake stacks, fried chicken and croissants to purple dinosaurs and flip phones or bangers and mash on the plate, there are so many fabulous Christmas tree decorations. All covered in glitter, too, providing the glamour and the nostalgia. You can shop the Rainbow Time Capsule theme here.
The Winter Fairytale was perfect for the ballerinas and pink lovers in your family. Using gentle pink tones and whites you could find unicorns, ballerinas, ballet shoes and swans here. Christmas Cottage was cosy and warm, using lots of oranges and reds and feeling almost autumnal. This was a close second for my favourite theme.
Royal Fairytale was regal and sophisticated, bringing a very traditional Christmas feel. Deep blues and reds follow this colour theme which includes ornaments of pheasants and partridges. Polar Planet was a lovely subtle nod to environmental issues. The baubles were of globes, polar bears and penguins using muted blue and green tones.
Finally, but certainly not least, was the Beyond Christmas theme. Here things got wacky. For the first time ever I saw aliens as baubles and Santa in a spaceship.
This theme takes Christmas out of space with planets and baubles and star signs written on in glitter. Overall, through the six themes, John Lewis perfectly combines traditional themes and the more, quite literally, out there themes meaning there is something for everyone. You can shop the John Lewis Christmas range here.
Other retailers are also in the process of launching their Christmas collections with The Range offering a full, um, range of festive decorations, here. Dunelm also have a large home decor range for Christmas this year with different themes such as Evergreen and Magical, find them, here.
