With a multitude of water based activities on offer Cardiff Bay Water Activity Centre, or CBWAC, is a great place for all ages and abilities to try something different or enhance already acquired skills.

Based just two miles from the city centre, CBWAC offers sailing, rowing, canoeing, yachting, fishing, windsurfing and powerboating.

Activities for kids – The Lightship 2000

Climb aboard the Lightship and explore the cabins, decks, galley, lounge, heli-deck, engine room and boiler house, or climb the light tower and check out the reflectors which can shine a light for 25 miles. Or learn about the history of lightships, pick up a souvenir, or enjoy refreshments on board. Open Monday to Saturday 10.00am to 5.00pm and 1.00pm to 5.00pm on Sundays.

Activities for kids – Cardiff Bay Skate Plaza

Covering over 1,100 square metres, the Skate Plaza is the city’s first if its kind and is open between 7.00am and 10.00pm every day with free admission.

Built to create an urban street environment, features include dozens of rails and jumps, including the fast becoming notorious ‘Beijing Jump’ stretching over 1.8metres. Give it a try, we dare you!

Activities for kids – Cardiff Cycle Routes

A great way to keep fit or just enjoy some time outdoors, there are a number of excellent and safe cycle routes in Cardiff. For example, the Rhymney Trail is ideal for kids at just 3.5km long and incorporates stunning views along the coastline; past lakes, marshland and woodlands; as well a chance to discover a bit of local history and nature.
