Driving Simulator Experiences Explained.

Driving simulator experiences are getting better and better, there is so much fun to be gained from just trying one. They are designed for anyone interested in racing and racing enthusiast love them. Here is the chance to race a Ferrari with the real sensation of feeling the steering wheel and pressing the pedals!

The hardware in conjunction with gaming software lets you get incredibly close to a real racing experience. The position of the controls is adjustable so that whatever your size you can fit the experience. Whilst it does not involve full on aerobic exercise it is certainly not passive and you can feel the toning effects after a session behind the wheel. Obviously if you want to fully experience a session behind the wheel of a Ferrari then you need to book a track day at one of the countries outstanding race tracks.

If you want to experience the next level up in driving simulation then there are an increasing number of driving simulator experiences available for hire, in fact you can even base kid’s parties around them or stag do’s. At the very top end Fernando Alonso can be seen using one on our Facebook page and other top drivers, Filipe Massa included, use them to analyse their style round the worlds top Formula 1 circuits. The advantage of using a simulator in learning a Formula 1 circuit that is unfamiliar to them without wrecking a £4.7m F1 car is obvious. This is where you can have some common ground with the F1 superstars in that the same concept applies to you.

Driving simulators allow you to drive flat out without doing the following:

1) Crashing you own car because your braking late strategy is perhaps a bit too aggressive.

2) Wearing out your engine, brakes and tyres as you power off the line and throw it into that tight right-hander.

3) Spending hundreds of thousands of pounds to experience a full on Ferrari driving experience.

4) Accumulating enough points on you driving license to get you banned from taking the kids to school.

5) Racking up huge bills for hotels and airline flights to drive the most prestigious circuits like of Monaco, Silverstone and Dubai.

The driving simulator experiences are compatible with all the gaming platforms such as PlayStations 1,2 or 3, Xbox and Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and GameCube, N64, Sega, or your PC. If you move away from arcade type games then you can get some tremendously real racing experiences with Sim racing. Sim Racing is an abbreviation for “simulation racing”. It refers to an environment that simulates real racing. It does this by taking more account of the physics, the driver must have a real understanding of car handling, with techniques such as threshold braking, braking at the threshold of tyre slip.

Controlling the car if the tyres loose traction and how not to loose speed on the entry and exit of turns. These real life experiences are taken out of arcade games, where the sense of speed is the prime objective. The result is a more skilful test; with a need to keep the car set up and balanced with the traction going to all four wheels. Failure leads to loss of control and followed by loss of the race! These driving simulators are used by amateur and professional alike to hone their driving skill with obvious benefits when they get on real tarmac. The whole experience gets even better when you introduce timed runs for a bit of competition. It all makes driving simulator experiences something to consider when looking for a bit of driving fun.
