Street dance Cardiff and all over the world is a colloquial dance form which has been developed on the streets of America. With five main styles, Breaking, Popping, Locking, House and Hip-Hop, dancing can be performed either individually or in an amalgamation of the different styles.

Due to its increasing popularity, in 2012 there was a Cardiff Festival of Street Dance held at Mermaid Quay with live performances and free workshops provided Elemental Force, a local street dance organisation & youth development program. This proved to be a huge success attracting hundreds of visitors of all ages eager to show off their skills or try a new activity.
