The seven fish and chip shops named the best in Wales
Seven Welsh fish and chip shops have been named in a guide to the best chippies across the UK.
Released every year, the National Federation of Fish Fryers’ Guide to Quality Fish and Chip Shops lists businesses up and down the country which have made the grade.
To get in the guide, the fish and chip shops are evaluated against a number of criteria including product quality, customer service and hygiene standards.
Here’s the seven Welsh chippies where you’ll be sure of a quality fish supper.
D.Fecci and Sons
This family-run fish and chip shop is a Tenby institution which has been in business for over 100 years. Run by brothers Delman and Charles Fecci, their homemade fishcakes are still based on the original 1940s recipe and every week they sell over 1,200 portions of fish and chips.

Fish Kitchen 1854
Named after the nearby Hengoed viaduct which opened in 1854, Fish Kitchen serves traditional fish and chips as well as creative weekly specials, such as salt and pepper squid, seafood suppers and homemade chicken curry.
