Woods bar and brasserie was conveniently located next to Wood Street car park is a striking building with a fascinating weather vane.  It has a long-standing reputation. Tends to fill up quite quickly so book up in advance.  Very good set menu if you want a set meal, let them know if you are pressed for time.

The Woods bar and brasserie set menu is terrific value, there is no let up of quality in the slightest and three delicious courses for £20.00 is hard to beat.

Cafe Rouge

Cafe Rouge. Part of a national chain. Meals are pretty predictable but don’t let that put you off. Some chains run French-speaking lessons. The menu is mid ranging which means you won’t be disappointed. Food is French themed and service depends a bit on the on the management. The bay branch is pretty good though.
